NJ STALLIONS U14G CROWNED “NCS NJ STATE CHAMPIONS!”

After a tough physical semifinal game versus Mount Laurel United Flash at the Wall Municipal Soccer Complex, site of this year’s NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES – USYSA NJ STATE CUP Finals Weekend, the NJ Stallion Academy U14G advanced to their first National Championship Series FINAL against their long time local rival, NJ Crush FC Charge on Sunday.

With three minutes left in the first period, the score was 1-0 in favor of the NJ Stallions U14G. NJ Crush Charge equalized with a goal of their own in the 32nd minute. Immediately after, the NJ Stallions girls quickly regained the lead at 2-1 with only 90 seconds left before halftime. NJ Crush Charge equalized again mid-way through the 2nd half. The score remained 2-2 till the end of regulation with both teams threatening. After two (2) 10 minute overtime periods, the game went to penalty kicks. NJ Stallions won the pk session 5-3, giving them the Championship for 2012. Head Coach, Russell Farr commented on the team’s accomplishment, “I’m extremely proud of all of our players. Everyone contributed in our run to the final. They’re all coming together as a team, and they should be very proud of themselves. They earned it.” The NCS State Champion accomplishment is an automatic invitation to the 2013 USYSA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT to be held in June of 2013 at the University of Rhode Island.
