The NJ Stallions U14B and the NJ Stallions U12G both emerge Champions at the 24th Annual Parsippany Pride Tournament over Columbus Day Weekend. The U14 Boys, led by Head Coach, Julio Cesar, raced thru their bracket against New Jersey teams from East Brunswick, Americans SC, Summit Rovers and Hotspurs. In all, over 4 matches, the NJ Stallions U14B scored 17 goals, with only 1 goal against. Coach Cesar commented on the event in Parsippany as a “good start to our season . . It’s a long Fall season for us. As we go through our run of league play, we also need to keep sharp through December, as we are headed to the Super Y Nationals in Tampa in December. We hope to do well at Nationals this year, so getting a weekend in like this one, is very beneficial to our players. They’re playing well, and I’m proud of them”.
The NJ Stallions U12G led by Head Coach, Meredith Rooney, also left as Champions at the Parsippany Pride event. Coach Rooney’s NJ Stallions U12G scored 9 goals over 4 games, with only 3 against. In 4 wins over LaGrange Red Stars, Mountain Lakes Bisons, Oceanside Panthers, and then in the Final over Vernon SC Storm, the U12G continued their style of possession and attack, keeping their opponent under pressure throughout the event. Coach Rooney spoke of her players as “hungry to win this weekend . . . I’m happy for all of them. We’ve been working diligently in training, advancing their technical base, and they’ve all responded well overall. My goal is to get them to finish our JAGS season on a high note. This Spring we will be competing in Super Y, so they have a lot of challenges ahead of them. Winning this event is huge confidence boost for them. They deserve it”.
